Our Story

Bohemian Made Design was founded and run by me, Hana Tenklova.

Originally from Prague, Czech Republic, I moved to California in 2014 to study. Although I instantly fell in love with the U.S, and the Bay Area in particular, there have been couple of things that I miss so much. Mostly, its our traditional food and the way we docorate our homes. Having done a long research, I found out that I cant get it in here at all.

Therefore, I I started playing with an idea of bringing these products to the U.S. At first, I wanted to bring my favorite chocolate candies :). However, importing foreign food products to the U.S. turned to be very challenging. So, I decided to go ahed and bring products that the Czech Republic is the most known for (besides beer). Crystal glass and porcelain!

Over the past 4 years in the U.S., I had a chance to meet people that admired and enjoyed the history, tradition, and design in the Czech Republic. I thought that if I bring a piece of the Czech culture into the U.S., it would make it easier for the locals to have some of these traditional and artistic pieces at home. 

Handcrafted with love and care, our beautiful products are both useful things and a perfect decoration for your home. We believe the Bohemian culture and art has so much to offer to the rest of the world!
